Homeschooling in Louisiana!?

Heeey. My mom is planning on homeschooling me this year and uh, we live in Louisiana. Slidell, to be exact. So we checked that website with homeschooling laws for every state (forgot what it’s called, but you probably know what I’m talking about) and we two options. We decided on the second one, which is the private school.

But we were wondering, for those of you who homeschool in La or just anybody who would know the answers to these questions, does the letter have to be printed or is it okay to write it out on just, notebook paper? And who would we mail it to, exactly?

Thank you sososo much! :) Also, any suggestions on where to get books and stuff would be great. We plan on just throwing it all together instead of buying one of those pre packaged curriculums.

E mail me with your email address and I will send you the copy we use! All you will have to do is edit where I have indicted. It has the address and all the information you will need.

What do you prefer? Abeka or Lifepac?

I'm in the process of searching for home education curriculum appropriate for my six years of age. After much research, we have reduced it down to either Abeka or AOP (Lifepac). But I had a question for parents who are a bit more experienced. Most websites I've been talking about the fact that Abeka is much more expensive to AOP. But I've looked on websites and compare prices … Abeka seems to run around $ 204 (student kit) + $ 139 (kit from father), also about $ 343 for the entire set. AOP shows its full package cost about $ 392. It seems Abeka is actually cheaper than the AOP, unless I'm missing something. Perhaps the Abeka game really is not it? Is there something missing in the Abeka game is going to cost me a lot, so AOP is over? In his personal experience, the program that you like and how to compare the two programs in the price? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Can we homeschool on Google and Yahoo and really teach our children?

Personally, I am a big fan of learning e-learning/electronic including online learning. I'm not quite sure how it is effective only for Google. I read on this article and the author strongly indicating that it is a primary resource … Obviously http://mykidsdeservebetter.com/public-school-menace/adhd-ritilan/parent-resources/low-cost-schools/lets-google-and-yahoo-our-kids-education if it helps you find the right equipment, it is a key resource, but what I propose. Should not be a collection of resources simply returned to parents perhaps by their public or private school? As a list of websites and a block that actually uses different web pages to create a structured lesson and well thought out? Encourage parents to just Google or Yahoo search and hope to find the appropriate response is working, but probably not as well as a program of pre-structured. What do you think and do you agree with the author?

Abeka Homeschool Dvd

What are the good DVD homeschool programs?

I looked at Abeka and it seems that the videos are about 45 minutes per subject. And then, my child to do homework. I tell myself it will be one hour program of 8-10 per day

I know two BJU Homesat (classes satellite) and DVD classes, they will also send you the entire program on a hard drive that you can do on the computer. Personally, I do not do these – My son just did not learn that way – but I have heard really good things from my friends who use them. One thing we do in DVD is in mathematics – we use Math U See (I recommend 100%) and will be from viewdata next spring when we start algebra. (Also MUS Algebra – precalc or something like that, but I prefer the configuration of teletext.) Hope that helps!
